To The Girl With The Butterfly Ears

A short comic which featured as Runner-Up in the Japanese Embassy’s Manga Jiman competition, also printed in the independent publication Bijoux Skeletons, vol.3.

Story: The story centres around an unconventionally intelligent young girl and her fixation with butterflies. The girl’s obsession helps carry her though tough times during school. It is a glimpse which takes places and is frozen just before her coming-of-age and narratively asks if “people really ever ‘come-of-age’ after experiencing childhood trauma?”
