Invisible like the Stars

Extract of an unpublished comic.

Background: This comic is based upon an amulet of a horse that resides in Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford. The bearers of the amulet are the Mba Tsav secret society of the Tiv people of Nigeria, who would use the miniature horse they bore in aid of their rituals. “One of the beliefs of the society is that they could mount this horse, become invisible, and travel long distances at night in order to kill a victim and returned unnoticed”.

Story: A narrative which silently an imaginatively follows the journey of the Mba Tsav majestic riders during one of their night haunts. Objectively presented, this otherwise crude story about murder instead adopts a tranquil air of Romanticism.
