Belle et La Bete

Based upon Beauty & The Beast and taking inspiration from Jean Cocteau’s filmic version, Belle et La Bete first appeared as a six-page feature in Comic Book Slumber Party’s Fairy Tales for Bad Bitches anthology. It was nominated for Best Book in 2015 by the British Comic Awards.

Story: This comic adaptation of Beauty & the Beast visually reverses the roles of the two main protagonists. Beast is an independent and foul-mouthed naive little pup who excitedly finds herself working as an intern for an ex-Mafia Leader. The ex-Mafia Leader Belle is a giant toad, heavily decorated in tattoos. Beast thinks that Belle is cool and tough, until she uncovers his true intentions.
